Bloedttransfusie

Terwijl de wereld surrealistisch doordraait lig ik moe en uitgeput op de bank. Mijn wereld draait even – deed het natuurlijk al langer - om chemo. Nummer vijf dit keer. [ nu een week geleden ]. De chemo’s slopen helaas mijn goede bloedplaatjes en laat mijn HB-waarde in mijn bloed flink dalen. Ik heb gewoon een tekort aan rode bloedcellen. Ik word er erg moe van. ‘Gelukkig’ is mijn bloedwaarde slecht genoeg en krijg ik nieuw vers bloed. Even energie tanken noem ik het tegenwoordig. Fijn dat het kan. Vandaag was ik aan de beurt. Even dik twee uur aan het infuus om de bloedwaardes weer wat te herstellen. Lekker als je weer rond kan lopen en niet steeds hoeft te zitten. Verder is het vooral afwachten wat de chemo’s doen. Na chemo – nummer 6 – over twee weken verwacht ik weer een scan. En dan volgt er ongetwijfeld advies over de volgende stap. Ik besef dat we het bijna niet meer hebben over mijn prostaat en mijn PSA-waarde, maar over kanker in het algemeen nu mijn lijf op veel plekken is aangetast. Laat de wereld en ook mijn eigen wereld een beetje mooier worden in 2020.
